Community Support

November 17, 2023 ǀ Faith & Gratitude was honored to be featured at a beautiful community event.  The afternoon hours were filled with members from our support group (the Celebration Circle), gathering and sharing love and compassion.  The evening hours were filled with local supporters mingling and toasting to the start of the holiday season….all to raise awareness & monies for Faith & Gratitude.  The event was hosted by Ed, Maria & Rachael (Denis) Brady at Cia’s Jewelry.

We are beyond grateful for your support!  Thank you to the Brady Family for organizing such an amazing day!

November 4, 2023 ǀ Faith & Gratitude has been twice blessed to have received another generous donation from Debbie Busteed.

Debbie has fast become one our dearest friends and one of our most gracious supporters.  She again opened her beautiful home to dozens of guests who came out to support Faith & Gratitude.  Through this second private event, she was able to raise an additional $1,400 for our 2024 programs!

Thank you, Debbie and friends, for a beautiful afternoon full of gracious giving and shared blessings …. and all because of a ‘chance’ meeting.

Faith & Gratitude

September 27, 2023 ǀ Faith & Gratitude is blessed to have received a generous donation from Debbie Busteed.

A chance encounter has blossomed into a beautiful friendship.  Lori Ball, Founder of Faith & Gratitude, met Debbie in early July at a fundraising event and immediately felt a connection.  Debbie’s home was one of many featured that day for its amazing gardens.

As Lori toured Debbie’s property, the encounters occurred more frequently eventually turning into a more intimate conversation that included Faith & Gratitude.

Through Debbie’s unbridled generosity, she was able to organize a private fundraising event inviting 60 of her dearest friends. What a success!  Debbie raised more than $2,000 to benefit Faith & Gratitude’s programs.

Thank you, Debbie and friends, for a magical evening full of shared blessings, compassion and all because of a ‘chance’ meeting.

Faith & Gratitude

May 30, 2023 | Faith & Gratitude is honored to have received a generous donation from 12-year-old Georgia Denny-Greathouse.

Georgia was only 5 years old when she watched her mom go through the rigors of breast cancer treatment and subsequently battle endometrial cancer four years later. With her mother’s encouragement, she began journaling to help her process what she was feeling. The journaling morphed into thoughts of coping & comforting strategies that seemed to really help her. She thought if these strategies could help her, they too may help others.

So, Georgia, in her own words, together with her then 4th grade teacher, wrote and self-published the booklet, ‘When Mama Got Cancer’. Georgia decided to give a portion of her book sales to Faith & Gratitude – split between a monetary donation & books to be provided to newly diagnosed patients with young children. She chose Faith & Gratitude because of how much the organization helped her mom.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, the karate studio where she attends raised money for a family associated with a cancer diagnosis. After the studio read ‘When Mama Got Cancer’, they decided to give the monies raised to Georgia for her cause….and her cause is Faith & Gratitude.

We are inspired by Georgia’s young philanthropic mindset and grateful to be the recipient of her generosity – both booklets & a monetary donation of $1,169. Thank you, Georgia!

November 30, 2022 | Faith & Gratitude is very blessed to have received several grants to support our 2023 program year.

First, we were awarded $5,000 from the FirstEnergy Foundation to support our Cancer Wellness Speaker Series.  We plan to showcase two integrative speakers next year for our patient base. For more than a century, FirstEnergy and their predecessor companies have been committed to improving the quality of life in the communities they serve.

Faith & Gratitude was also the recipient of a $10,000 grant from The Pittsburgh Foundation for general operating costs.  This award will help to support our administrative, insurance and marketing costs. The Pittsburgh Foundation works to improve the quality of life in our local region by evaluating and addressing community issues, promoting responsible philanthropy, and connecting donors to the critical needs of the community.

The Dr. Joe Foundation awarded us a $5,000 grant to support our Cancer Resource Guides.  In 2023, we plan to send over 150 guides to cancer patients which this will greatly help to fund. The Foundation is a Michigan based private foundation that has helped non-profit organizations since 2012.

Lastly, our organization received $1,000 from the J. Scott & Ruth Apter Charitable Foundation for general support.  We will use this funding for our outreach programs.

A special Thank You to these wonderful organizations. We are so grateful for your support!
