What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are formed inside aromatic plants and have been used for thousands of years for healing and medicinal purposes. Dating back to ancient times, these oils have been integrated into Greek, Roman, and Chinese medicine because of their tremendous health properties.
Today essential oils are extracted from seeds and plants through modern distillation or cold pressing methods and conveniently packaged in small dropper-sized bottles. They can be used topically, aromatically, and a few are even used internally. The amazing thing is how quickly they can travel through our body! Essential oil molecules have the unique ability to penetrate cell membranes and diffuse throughout the skin, tissues, and blood. They can travel through the body in minutes whether applied to the skin or inhaled, and are metabolized by the body just like other nutrients. 1
Who should consider using Essential Oils?
Anyone who is interested in boosting their immune system, resolving a health issue, preventing disease, or wanting to maintain optimal health. As documented below, essential oils have many healing benefits and can be added to your daily wellness protocol.

I used essential oils during treatment to specifically help improve my white blood count. The ‘recipe’ I used was beneficial, and it smelled wonderful! I would mix several oils and rub the mixture on the bottoms of my feet before bedtime. Nice and easy!
My Favorite Recipe
5 drops Grapefruit
4 drops Lemon
3 drops Lemongrass
3 drops Breathe
(Breathe is an antibacterial doTerra brand essential oil blend)
I recognize there are many different essential oils from which you can choose when on a healing journey. My five favorite oils that I incorporated into my weekly regimen included: Lavender, Lemon, Grapefruit, Frankincense and Peppermint! When selecting essential oils for your personal healing plan, be sure to do some research, and find a quality brand.
